No School
There is no snow on the ground, no ice, no rain, no, well, anything. And yet school has been canceled for the day. Granted they are calling for a Nor'easter to blow through here. Starting just after rush hour this morning, which is now.
However, last week when they were calling for 5-8 inches of snow the kids still went to school. But then they were let out early (at 11:30) when the snow started. Since the kids had a technical "half day" it counts towards the mandatory school year. You would think that they would do the same thing for today. Since more than likely tomorrow the schools will be closed because of dangerous driving conditions.
I guess they have a few too many scheduled snow days burning a hole in their pockets. That or all the teachers went to some wild party over the weekend and are now "under the weather". Lol.
Funny thing is we were watching the TV to see the school early dismissals for today and kept missing our county and/or the part of the alphabet the school is in. So I go and check the school website and there it is in big old letters that school is closed today. For whatever reason, my dressed and ready-to-go-to-school child has run shedding her coat and tossing her book bag to the side in the wild melee to rid herself of school day entrapments. Celebrating that day every child here regards with something akin to the embodiment Christmas, Easter and the Fourth of July rolled into one... A snow day.

Well, someone doesn't sound happy about a snow day!!! LOL! Hope its not too bad. Sheila
Thought I would say hi since I am your new neighbor on the Fiber Ring and also a Pennsylvanian. I also think teachers are the reason for delays/cancellations. The roads are still okay in Pgh. but everyone is in a panic. PS I like your list of links and will be checking them out.
